Physiatry Day 2018 is on October 26

July 20, 2018 | Submitted by #PMRisMoreThan

Friday, October 26: We are putting Physiatry first.

No matter your subspecialty or area of interest, October 26 is about physiatry. Come together with your peers, declare your specialty loud and proud, and be part of the fun!

Our 2018 theme, “Physiatrist & ____” is about putting physiatry first. Oftentimes physiatrists introduce themselves to patients and other practitioners based on their subspecialty area. For one day, help us make a concerted effort to expand the identity and value of physiatry. It’s a small gesture, but it’s a place to start!

The Purpose of Physiatry Day

Physiatry Day is meant to unify and celebrate the specialty for a dedicated day each year. The diverse ways in which PM&R is practiced is a strength—but also a potential challenge for the future viability of the specialty. Physiatrists must be unified in voice, in numbers, and in passion so that the patient populations we serve are continuously and positively impacted by our care.

Help physiatry be more than the sum of its part—plan to participate in Physiatry Day 2018. Stay tuned to this website and our social media channels, as additional details will be released closer to the date!
